contradictory in output ethtool and miki-tool

In one of my Linux server (RHEL ES 4.5) the two command output shows the different link state.

[root@server ~]# ethtool eth0

Settings for eth0:

Supported ports: [ FIBRE ]

Supported link modes: 1000baseT/Full

Supports auto-negotiation: Yes

Advertised link modes: 1000baseT/Full

Advertised auto-negotiation: No

Speed: 1000Mb/s

Duplex: Full

Port: FIBRE

PHYAD: 2

Transceiver: internal

Auto-negotiation: on

Supports Wake-on: g

Wake-on: g

Link detected: yes

[root@server ~]# mii-tool

eth0: negotiated 10baseT-HD, link ok

Can anyone tell me which output should I rely?

If ethtool works at all then I'd trust it over mii-tool especially for a GigE card.

From the RHEL5 mii-tool man page:

Quote:
NOTE
This program is obsolete. Valid media are only 100baseT4, 100baseTx-FD, 100baseTx-HD, 10baseT-FD and 10baseT-HD ethernet cards.
For replacement check ethtool.
That tells you that mii-tool can't see speed 1000 at all.
