Connecting phones to computer via bluetooth

Hopefully I'm going to provide all or at least most of the necessary information. I have two phones, a Motorola EM330 and a Nokia 2600 that I want to transfer files from to my Mandriva 2009.1 box running Gnome 2.26.1. Using Gnome's bluetooth preferences setup both phones are seen by the computer as shown on the attached screenshot. Looking at the device detaila on the Motorola it shows a name of localhost-0, type computer, access automatic so it can also 'see' the computer. When I try to send a picture from the phone to the computer and select 'look for device' on the phone it scans but does not find the computer (No devices found). However, I can send a file from the computer to either phone using the bluetooth connection and Nautilus. When 'send to' is selected I've given a choice of the Motorola or Nokia phone. Some, I hope, useful information is below:

Output of lsusb:

There may be too much in the above or maybe not enough but I've included what appears to be the info on the bluetooth adapter (IOGear model GBU421WM Bluetooth 2.1 USB Micro Adapter).

Thanks for any help/advice/suggestions. I can hard link the Motorola to the box via a mini-usb cable but not the Nokia.

So the problem is that you can't receive files from the phones, but you can send them to the phones? To receive files you need to be running an OBEX server, I am not sure that Mandriva includes this by default as I have never worked with it. But I am pretty sure this is not a problem with any specific hardware, it is an issue with what services your computer is offering.

You can check which Bluetooth profiles your system is advertising with the command:

Code:
sdptool browse local
You are looking for either OBEX Push or OBEX File Transfer to be listed. If you don't see either of those, then that is the problem.

P.S.

For the future, if you are going to post very long bits of information like that dmesg output, you should put them in CODE tags so they are easier to scroll through and don't take up so much space on the page.
