Clipping and stereo swapping with aureal sq1500

Almost everytime theres HD load (possible CPU load too) I hear clip in the sound and the left and right audiochannel get swapped. This is very annoying since I always use headphones and you really can't ignore the clipping and swapping with them. I've tried to search the net for possible solutions but haven't found any. I tried changing the PCI slot for my sound card but it didn't help. Maybe this is a DMA issue or something cause it mostly seems to happen whenever theres HD activity.. ? I really dont know.

My system includes:
Debian 3.0 Sarge/Testing
Asus P3B-F with Intel 440BX chipset
P3 933 133MHz FSB
Matrox G200 AGP
512MB RAM
Aureal SQ1500
Maxtor 2F040L0 ~40GB Hard Drive. hdparm -i telling that its using udma2:
UDMA modes: udma0 udma1 *udma2 udma3 udma4 udma5 udma6

Here's what cat /proc/pci says:

I know that some SB Live cards do this because of timing issues of the pci bus. Linux? donno... Found this by searching Google for "popping speakers in linux aureal sound card" try drivers... video sounds like a good start.

A good number of VGA card manufacturers are squeezing out a few extra points on their benchmarking scores by locking up the PCI bus. This is fine for graphics and most systems on the PC (hard disks and such) don't even notice the problem.... Unfortunately this can hurt the audio system in a big way. Most audio cards use ISA/DMA to trickle samples over the bus one word at a time. Even PCI cards can be hurt by this problem because they trickle the data over the bus in tiny transfers. When another device illegally locks up the bus for more than 1/88200th of a second, there's a good chance you will lose audio samples resulting an a glitch in the recording or playback.

This glitching can appear in the form of brief, silent pauses in the sound, as well as crackling or popping sounds. This is NOT the fault of the sound card! This is not even the fault of the VGA card... it is in fact the fault of the VGA driver.

For more information on this, and ways to look into fixing it, be sure to read the entire article at the link above.

It's a start anyway.... good luck.
