Do you want the number and size of the partitions or of the actual hard drives?

For the partitions, use df with some options to make it more readable:

Code:
df -hP
For the physical drives, look at fdisk at the top where it summarizes each device:

Code:
fdisk -l

The output from fdisk can be tidied with sed or awk if you just want the summaries:

Code:
fdisk -l | sed -e '/^Disk /!d;'
