My video card is not working properly so I need to change it. (My machine started to freeze in Linux and Windows. I think its the video card.) I am not sure whether I could get the same type. If I install a different video card, would my Mandrake Linux 9.1 be able to automatically recognize it or would I need to specify it manually? If so what are the steps I should take.
Not sure why a video card would make anything freeze. But yes, you should be able to swap in any card you want. If X fails to load, it should drop you at a text console where you can run a video config tool and reset your settings...
