Question caps lock notification for openSUSE 11.4, KDE 4 on Dell Inspiron

I'm sure someone has had this problem before. On the Dell Inspiron N4010 (and many other laptops, I've discovered) there is for some idiotic reason no LED indicator for the Caps Lock state. Dell provides a little Windows 7 program that will put up a pop-up on the screen, but that is singularly useless to me when I'm running openSUSE or Ubuntu on this machine. Does anyone know of a KDE 4 widget that will notify me when caps-lock is on?

I did find another thread on this issue here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ations-624430/
But the "kkeyled" program seems to have not been updated since KDE 3.4 and I got a package dependency error when I tried to install it.

Another option, I suppose, would be if anyone knows how to disable the Caps Lock key altogether....

System Settings -> Region & Language -> Keyboard Layout -> Enable Keyboard Layouts -> Apply -> Advanced -> Capslock Behavior -> Capslock is Disbled -> Ctrl Key position -> Make Capslock an additional Ctrl -> Apply

Thanks, penguiniator. I actually found it under "Configure Desktop -> Input Devices -> Keyboard -> click "Advanced" tab -> click "Configure keyboard options" checkbox. There's quite a bit of useful/interesting stuff in there. You can also disable the Caps Lock key altogether (which is what I did).

Many people configure it as an extra control key. I have mine configured as an extra escape key. I use Vim, so I use the escape key all the time.
