Canon Powershot S10: remote capture linux

I wrote a program that does "Remote Capture" (taking and downloading a photo while controlled from PC though USB) with the Canon IXUS for Linux (capture)

This prog is based on a C library that was written by Michael Montemerlo that allows you to use remote capture on a Canon S40. This also works for the IXUS without any changes except the product_id.

So I bought a Canon Powershot S10, thinking that it will also work with this canon.
But it doen't, somehow the connection get initialized with the Canon, but then it doesn't understand the RCC commands, that would bringt it into photo-taking mode.
Any ideas? Is the S10 even capable of remote capture?
