Can't see entire ! Gig of memory

Hello All,

I'm running FC2, 2.6 kernel. I recently increased my total
memory from 512 to 1Gig. When viewing my memory total
using TOP or free -m I do not see the entire 1Gig. I've read numerous
emails and documentation about the necessity of recompiling the kernel to
enable HIGHMEM. When I proceeded to do this, I saw that the HIGHMEM option was already compiled in !!!
My question is what do I do now to access the rest of that memory???

Thanks in advance

In lilo or grub specify mem=1024. If that does not work you will have to re-compile the kernel for 4 GB.

Thanks for the quick response .... but like I wrote the kernel is already compiled with the 4Gig (I thought that that
was HIGHMEM) option on. That's why I'm uncertain as to what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
