Question Can't connect to internet with Motorola sb5100 cable modem with redhat 7

I'm not a newbie, all connections work off of cable modem; motorola sb5100; is there a trick to get by or configure this modem? Redhat 7

There's nothing to configure on the modem that I know of. What output do you get if you run ifconfig

might just be a missing dns ip. Have you tried pinging an ip? Try tucows.com Their ip is 216.40.32.30
