Exclamation C-Media SoundCard, need help!


hi,
I need some help for enabling 4 speaker mode with redhat linux 9.

How i can do this?

Because all documentation from c-media is old 2001 and is for redhat linux 6.1 , the drivers too.Some commands lines from the documentation don't exist in Redhat Linux 9.

My soundcard is a Cmedia with chipsets CMI8738

If u have the time analyse this

Well there's a commercial version of OSS.
U need to register it but its alot easier for setting it up.

ya , i just have installed OSS and it's very simple but $$$$

i want a free version , isn't possible or not?

wohaaa , i have tested my rear output and it WORKS!!!
and i have no more problem with XMMS (error : soundcard blocked by another program...error like that)

THX OSS and all pplz help me!!!!

how to fix this error when playing sound in XMMS (error : soundcard blocked by another program...error like that) visit OpenSound www.opensound.com rulez!!!

Download open sound and it's so easy to install because the driver have a Simple GUI.

hi

Try uninstalling ur xmms and reinstalling it after downloading it from the net xmms that comes with red hat 9 does not work correctly after reinstallation all ur problems and erroemsgs will be solved
pls tell me more about oss i also face the same problem as u did
