Hello everyone,

I am quite new to linux after having switched from xp, so i need a bit of advice.

I am looking at buying a reasonably priced video card for my computer. my computer has onboard intel extreme graphics, which yes works quite well in windows...BUT...after the switch to linux- i feel it's time to upgrade anyway.

I mainly play enemy territory and would like to know some of your recommendations in choosing the right card. People tell me ATI others tell me Nvidia, I have been looking at a GeForce4 MX 440-SE 64mb PCI card

Any advice and suggestions?

Nvidia support is far superior to ATI for Linux.

I use an MX440 myself, it just about scrapes through Doom3 so unless blazingly good graphics are a priority, it'll probably do the job for you.
