Broadband and Printers

I'm a Linux newbie, very experienced with MS DOS and MS Win.
I've installed Linux SUSE 10.0 but am having trouble configuring an installed Printer (I have a Lexmark 5150 but this No is not in the Manfr list). Linux has picked it up as a 5100 (which is true) but this doesn't exist as a No in the type list.
I'm also having trouble installing a Brit Telecom Voyager Broadband Modem (2.2 MB) - at a complete loss here.
Help! Many Thanks fellas.

Welcome to LQ chanelit and cmasonhung!

The best one-stop-shop for printing under Linux is LinuxPrinting and if you haven't visited there yet, I'd recommend it. My understanding is that Lexmark printers use proprietary drivers (ie, the manufacturer has not released a Linux version) and thus configuring them under Linux can be more of a challenge than other manufacturers. I see that LP has a number of Lexmark drivers though, good luck with it

Well, I've done it. I downloaded a Samsung's driver and it worked, not all but I least I can now print. The scanner doesn't work neither the fax, but I can print, so now my next journey begins... I have to make the scanner and fax work.

Thanks for your advice!!
