bad SATA write performance

Hi!

When i use lmdd on my dell precision 490 with RHEL4
i get a write performance of about 60 MB/s
my write performance is only at 20 MB/s

the Drive is a Hitachi Deskstar 7K500, SATA.

i googled a bit and am going to try to see how far i get
diddling around with sdparm.

any help appreciated...

well, thats what it was supposed to say.

found out the problem actually was lmdd, reporting incorrectly
when writing.

if somebody has has tips on working SATA Harddrive performance tweaks,
pls let me know.
sdparm and hdparm did me no good trying to set any Parameters so far....
