Audio Driver Problem

Dear all,

I installed RHEL-4 ES on Hp compaq dx6120MT machine. Every thing is ok except the audio driver.
In the lspci i can find the audio controller

00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)

But still no sound.
Can some one help me

Thanks in advance

Shan

lspci shows what devices are connected to the PCI bus. It doesn't mean that the module for the card is loaded. That's what lsmod does. Run that and look for snd_hda_intel. If that's there, the module is loaded and the problem lies elsewhere. If not, you'll need to load the module.

First i am new in linux(SUSE11).
I have the same problem with my Audigy.
The problem was a switch analog / digital jack.
When i check it i have power in my card.
Pay attention for mutting switches.
Put Volumes of master e.t.c high.
If you have 4.1 system look the volumes of souround, PCM e.t.c.
