I am a recent convert from windows xp. i am using mandrake 10.1 community edition running the 2.6.8.1-10mdk kernel with an ati mobility radeon 9000 IGP graphics card. Needless to say I'm still a newbie but I've tried for a couple days now to figure out how to install the proprietary ati drivers from their website but it never works. Can anyone post some instructions? My brain hurts
ok, i supposedly set everything up correctly. When I rebooted my machine it prompts me to login without X running. I do so and I type startx to run KDE. It acts like it is going to start then gives me the error message saying:
Fatal Server Error:
Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Please specify busIDs for all devices. I looked at the x.org log file and got the same message. Any clue what to change?
