ATAPI compatible PCI based IDE card
I'm trying to find a PCI based IDE controller that is Linux and ATAPI compatible, and handles at least UDMA-33.
I bought a job lot of Promise ATA-66 cards (PDC-20262 chipset) a while ago for this task,
only to discover that they don't work properly with ATAPI devices. Nor does the ATA-100 card (PDC-20267)
I opted for the ATA-66 cards over the older ATA-33 cards, because the ATA-66 cards (and newer) are flash upgradeable.
The older ATA-33 (PDC-20246) required a chip replacement.
I basically want a DVD-ROM and DVD-writer on seperate channels, without having to use up both on-board IDE interfaces.
There MUST be a PCI based IDE controller available that is fully ATAPI and UDMA-33 compliant.
Advice much appreciated
