ASUS 52x CD-R/RW not burning

Hi.
My CD-R/RW is detected fine. But the problem is, whenever I try to mount it in R/W mode, it gives and error and is only mounted in R mode. Also, if I try to burn a CD using cdrecord, the process starts, the red light blinks once or twice and I get a completion message. But nothing is written to the CD. What should I do?

Hi,

I'm not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to the intricacies of cd writing, but I did have a similar problem using cdrecord. Using cdrdao instead solved the problem for me; I'd be interested in other people's comments on this!

That's weird, I have the same drive and it burns just fine for me in Slack 10 and I did nothing special to configure it either, other than install Slack 10.
