Anybody got DMA working on a Gigabyte 915G series mobo?

Hi all

Has anybody managed to get DMA working on the above motherboard based on the Intel 915G chipset? If so, how did you do it and what kernel?

No luck (even after several recompiles) on the 2.6.12 kernel in getting DMA working on this board...

Thanks!

Hi!

Thanks for replying - I am running an FC3 install with a custom 2.6.12 kernel (the custom kernel of course being there 'cause the default FC3 2.6.9 kernel did do DMA with the 915G chipset - 12 does neither). I am busy trying to see if the latest 2.6.14 kernel will work and enable DMA on the 915G based mobo.

I checked for /var/log/warn and the file does not exist. I get the classic HDIO_SET_DMA failure messages when I try to do hdparm -d1 -c1 /dev/... on any of the CD-ROM / disk drives on the particular system...

Thanks for the reply!
