Add New Hard Drive


Hi Guyz,
I have added new hard drive which came up with /dev/sda1 when i mounted it to /FTP its ok running good.
when i reboot system it dosent showup with /FTP...how to add its entery in fstab by command or is there any safe way for adding it...
i have added it to fstab manually but didnt worked...

HELP HELP HELP HELP...

As root, run the following, and post the output

I don't see an entry there for /FTP as a mountpoint.
I hate the way they use labels like that ....

Try adding

/dev/sda1    /FTP   ext?     defaults 0 2
According to that comment you should use fstab-synch - of which I have no knowledge.
Change the fs-type as appropriate.

what actually that 0 2 means at the end of each line ??

First number of the two adjusts the archiving schedule for the partition which is used by dump (which backs up file systems). Second number indicates the order in which the fsck utility will scan the partitions for errors when the computer powers on (Fsck checks the consistency of file systems). When 0 is entered as eighter number, the corresponding function is disabled.
