A internal modem question

I am using RED hat 9

I just installed 2 modems that I thought would work with linux. During startup kudzu detected both of them. When I go into X and look at my hardware I do not see them. Also I tried to run the internet configuration wizard and have it probe for the modems but no luck.

Why would kudzu detect and configure them both and then I can not see them in X?

I have run cat /proc/pci

Here is the output
[root@backupsvr root]# cat /proc/pci
