64bit cpu


will mandrake 10.1 x86 32 run on an AMD 64

yes but not at the full potential of the chip. So you would be using 32bit of 64.
You might look into a 64bit OS. Fedora core has a 64bit version and so do a few other distros. Or you could fork out for XP 64bit.

Hi Sean

I have run 32-bit and 64-bit Mandrake 10.1 official on an Asus K8V SE Deluxe. Both work well, mostly. There were issues with dialup, but could just be this particular beast. (DSL is no problem)

It may be worth your time to do some research on your motherboard. Some AMD64 mb have more Linux problems than others.
