3COM 3c940/3c2000 Driver

I'm new to linux (I am using redhat9), and I've been having a lot of problems getting this driver for my LAN card installed. My first problem was that I didn't have the linux source installed but I have solved that.

My newest problem is that the insmod command is needed to install the driver, but linux gives an error along the lines that the command is not found. I know it exists because I've searched and found it. Can anyone offer me some help, I would really like to get linux online.

as root, try this from the shell:

/sbin/insmod

That's also where rmmod, lsmod, etc are

I had my friend who knows some stuff about linux come help me, I guess he got insmod working, but there is a different problem. Insmod says the module is already installed, but when my friend tried probing it, it could not be found.
