I'm running a Slackware10.1 with a soundcard integrated in the motherboard, as you can read in the title is a Nvidia Nforce CK804.

I experienced a partial malfunctioning with this model and I heard it's not unusual due to a lack of good support under GNU/Linux systems.

I can play songs by mean of XMMS or watch movies through Xine, but something's wrong:
Mozplugger doesn't reproduce a trailer with a correct sound signal and Thunderbird isn't able to play an incoming mail sound, moreover the mic is completely out of order then I can't use application like Skype.

Can you help me out, guys?

This is an interesting result of a cat command, hope it might help someway:

Anybody experienced a similar problem? with different distros too?

HI, I have recently installed SUSE 11.2 and run into the same problem, I get audio on Utube and video playback but if I try for radio streaming or podcasts then tere is no sound. I'm going thru the forums to see what is the answer, but my CLI is limited.
