Xandros ISO won't get off my CD-RW

I tried to erase a CD-RW containing a Xandros .ISO, because I needed the disc for somethingm else. However, Xandros seems to be able to prevent its own deletion: the deletion reportedly worked properly (both Windows XP and an ISO burner I downloaded), but Xandros came back, or never disappeared in the first place. I am stuck with the distro that will not die.

You didn't mention how you tried to erase it. K3b has an erase function that has worked fine for me (even though it's just basically a shell for command line functions).
