X Windows Configuration Problem

I'm using Intel845 GVAD2 original motherboard and P4@1.8 GHz Processor.When i installed RHL9.0,X window is working Properly with 1024 * 768 pixels at truecolor 24bit.But i'm not able to install oracle9i on RHL9.0.So i installed RHL8.0 on my machine.But i'm unable to configure X windows as 1024 * 768 pixels.When i tried to change resolution,i'm not able start X windows.Resolution is very bad.I'm using LG Studio works500G monitor.

How can i retrieve this problem

Check the values given in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file.Your system will go for the best value possible among those given in it(you can see this in /var/log/XFree.0.log).So you will have to adjust those values to suite the required resolution.
