WinXP fat32 partitions on RedHat8

I am trying to mount three winXP fat32 partitions on a RH8 install.
During installation I unchecked the drive with the XP part's on and now when I am attempting to mount the part's I get no joy whatsoever.

RH's Hardware browser just drops back out after showing absolutely nothing, so I can't even verify if the OS sees the HD as a physical drive.

RH8 is on my primary HD. hdax various partitions.

The XP partitions are on my secondary HD, which I presume would be hdb1-3 (3 partitions)

Any ideas?

run fdisk -l /dev/hdb to list the structure of the drive. if you want hdb1 then run
Code:
mount -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /mnt/blah_blah_i_am_a_mount_point
that should work fine. if that does then you can create an /etc/fstab entry such as
Code:
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/blah vfat umask=000,auto,user 0 0

I am quite sure that I have done nothing to my hdb drive, yet I get:

Code:
[root@mypc root]# fdisk -l /dev/hdb

Disk /dev/hdb: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 4865 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
[root@mypc root]#
Which would suggest that all is gone. ???
