Question Win Vista box won't boot from Fedora disc

hi
dont know where this thread belongs , but ...
last weekend went to upgrade my linux box to this sweet emachine with the 3g dualcore chip, and the 800m FSB

loaded Fedora 8 all went well , spent the weekend making all the functions work the way i like

you know

Wed i look at the box and X has crashed and the video is bouncing

tried to reload the box cuz when i logged in remotely and ran the rpm -Va
lottsa stuff was missing

box wouldnt reload from the F8 disc
not from the F7 disc either

nothing but bounce till it finally said couldnt find any operating sys

reloaded winders just fine

but still doesnt see the fedora discs as bootable

whats up
have i done something terribly wrong?
thanks

ehd

Do you have the BIOS set to boot off the cd?

yes the first thing i checked

once again i loaded my new box from the very same disc b4 it crashed
and then it reloaded from the winows disc
but be4 the reload to winders it refused to see the fedora discs

and still does not

i mean i cand see them thru windows as the fedora.iso file

but with disc in drive and reboot , you can see the drive light blinkin as it peruses the disc

then it just ignores it

with both the F7 & F8

You burned the disc wrong. If you burned it correctly you would see a bunch of directories and files and such. Make sure to burn it as an image

You probably cursed the computer by installing yer "winders" on it. Poor thing.
