where and how do i find /tmp ??

as it seems i've filled my hdd by experimenting, tried a backup command that i thought would point to my tapedrive but it doesn't appear to have and i'm led to believe this is where it will have gone...

command was...
tar -cpf /dev/st0 / --exclude=/proc

any help appreciated with this experimental cockup

This should have outputted a tar'ed backup to /dev/st0

I think st0 is a tape drive, best bet is to read some manuals regarding tabe drives, see if your tape drive is wokring under linux and then do a google search on www.goodle.com/linux for backuping data. There are many weird and wonderful ways it can be done
