Question What do you think of this monitor??

I know it's only a monitor, but I was wondering if any LQ'ers have a LG 24MP59HT 24' Full HD IPS LED Gaming Monitor?

I'm looking to buy one, and I am making $0.00 out of this, just for the record. And I do NOT work for LG or any related company.

I am just wondering what experiences others may have had with this monitor?

The specs for it are, here: http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-24MP59HT-P-led-monitor

Thanks in advance.

I would choose a monitor with a higher resolution.

I have no experience with that monitor, but looking at images of the back there are a few things I do not like about it:

1) No VESA mounting points, nor any other place to jury rig a mounting (such as a wall mount).

2) The inputs stick inward from behind, rather than sideways from below or the sides. This makes any sort of wall mount ... problematic.

Okay, so maybe you'll never want to use an alternative mounting, and you're sure you'll never want to use portrait orientation. But think about it.

For example, one really nice upgrade you might want to do in the future is to get a second matching 1920x1080 monitor to use above-and-below. This provides 1920x2160 pixels of resolution - very nice for web browsing. But you'll want to hang the monitors on the wall to do this.

I agree.
My current main monitor is 1920*1200 and I consider anything less to be garbage.
personally I've been looking at "2K" monitors as a decent layover on the way to 8K.

I do not like it resolution Ration (1.777), but AFAIK you can no longer get better ratios for new monitors

(would prefer 1.6 - 1920x1200, but my holy grail 1-1/3)

Hi! I don't have LG monitor. I have Asus VG248QE gaming monitor and It is the best monitor which I experience. I really like this monitor. You can also try this. If you want to upgrade your monitor.

Thanks so much to everyone that replied to my question!

I wanted to wait to see if anyone else was going to reply, before replying myself.

You don't want my advice, I was just selecting a QVGA for a project and considering that we'd not go that high in res.

I'm not a gamer, nor a huge TV watcher, and I still have a tube TV. To me, a monitor is a monitor and I found it very interesting that I looked at your original link, meanwhile saw your disclaimers and wondered why.

The monitor, or the page referring it, seems to look awesome. But of course, it is a sales pitch. And then just about everyone else who looked at the actual specs, shot it down. In this light, I'm hoping you're glad you asked because it sounds as if the original monitor choice is not an ideal one for gaming.

I can live with it not being the best for gaming, it's just, I'm on a bit of a budget and it was with-in the budget. Out of interest, what monitor have you got, if you don't mind me asking?

This one is far smaller than the QVGA I was referring too.

And sorry, QVGA is my world is Quarter VGA 320x240. Did not mean to mislead there.

I have seen the pictures and I like the monitor and it's features but I need 144Hz refresh rate monitor.
