What Dists....

What distribrutions use GCC2? I ask because the driver for my HPNA NIC only work with GCC2. I have found that Lycoris works, but I would like to try some others. And I don't really want to waste cd-r's on dists that won't work with my NIC. Thanks!

Nope, but what's that got to do with it supporting your NIC? A non-GUI installer isn't that much harder than a GUI installer, or is it?

What kind of NIC do you use? I have rarely heard that a NIC only is supported under GCC2 or the such. Model and chipset that is... etc for the NIC?

If getting GCC2 is your peoblem, Red Hat 8 comes with both gcc3 and gcc2.xx, so you can select between them.

For someone with as little experience with command line interfaces as me, a GUI is a must have.

Why I need GCC2, my HPNA NIC's driver insn't compatible with kernels compiled with GCC3. And since I get my interet over the network...

This is the topic where I figured my NIC out: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...031#post464031

When I hear GUI interfaces for install, I think RH's

For non-GUI's, I think of Slackware's. Slackware's isn't difficult at all. I mean, the up and down arrows, the tab, space, enter, left & right keys, that's all you need, except when you want to type in a mounting point....
