What command will locate a particular..


directory in Unix/Linux OS...I've tried grep, find, ls -d.....not sure which cmd is the most accurate. I"m
trying to find the "location" of a directory....thanks in advance

If you are seaching your directory structure, then find ought to do the trick. Something like find / -iname directoryname

In this case find would start at / and look for directoryname in a case insensitive manner.


Check out man find for more options.
