WEIRD sound problem, plz help
Hi, I'm trying to get sound to work with Kismet, and when I first boot, I can play MP3's and there are system sounds and everything, but as soon as I run Kismet, it's sounds don't work and then sound permanently is screwed until I reboot.
So if I try a 'play /usr/local/share/kismet/wav/new_network.wav', it tells me:
sox: Can't open output file '/dev/dsp': Device or resource busy
Then, I do a dmesg and it tells me:
i810: Intel ICH3 found at io 0x18c0 AND 0x1c00, IRQ 11
i810_audio: Audio Controller supports 6 channels.
ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: 0x414c:0x4710 (ALC200/200P)
i810_audio: AC'97 codec 0 supports AMAP, total channels = 2
i810_audio: timed out waiting for codec 1 analog ready<3>i810_audio: drain_dac, dma timeout?
i810_audio: drain_dac, dma timeout?
THEN, I tried playing that wav again, and this time it played, but it said:
sox: Sound card appears to only support 2 channels. Overriding format
So my guess is there is some conflict between how many channels the sound card allows and how much it's set for or something. Is there a command to configure my sound?
TIA
