Webmin Through Apache using mod_proxy...

Hello,

I've been trying to configure Apache 2.0.47 and Webmin 1.121 so that I can access Webmin through Apache on port 80. I read the instructions on how to configure this from www.webmin.com/apache.html but I can't seem to get it to work at all.

I installed mod_proxy first of all making sure it was the same version number that matched my Apache 2 installation.

I then made the following changes to /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf...

I added the line:

LoadModules proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so

I was then able to see this as a configured Apache module through Webmin, so I took it that it was working OK.

I then added the following lines to /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf

ProxyPass /webmin http://localhost:10000/
ProxyPassReverse /webmin http://localhost:10000/

I then added the following lines to /etc/webmin/config...

webprefix=/webmin
webprefixnoredir=1

I stopped, reloaded and started apache and webmin. I then tried to access http://localhost/webmin and got the error 403 Forbidden, you are not authorized to access /webmin on this server.

I thought it could have something to do with Webmin requiring SSL encrypted login, so I went back into Webmin and disabled SSL so that I could access it and login using http://localhost:10000 (as in the Apache config file) but it still isn't working.

What gives?

Many Thanks - ech
