I'm seriously considering the creation of a Live-type CD, which is to purely be used as a rescue. I wish it to be able to repair both Windows and Linux systems. Now, I realise that Knoppix already does a great job of this, but what I want to do is create a cd that is purely rescue, limited, if any entertainment value. I've gathered links, and planned on some software that I wish to include, but I need your help. While this is mainly going to be a personal project, I do plan on releasing the ISO to the public. What I need from you all is:
What would you want on such a CD? IE: What utilities?
I'm thinking either a Slackware, Gentoo, or Debian base, but I'm still unsure to that. Probably not KDE, will most likely go more for fluxbox. Obviously, all the neccessary command-line tools (bash, fdisk, binutils, coreutils, all the things that come with base distros) but what else would be needed?
What else would you all like to see?
Thank you for all your thoughts, see ya in the forums
