Hi
I cant find any topic on witch VPN services to use.
I want to use OpenVPN. I have been using some of the free VPN services... But I am thinking of paying for a more stable VPN connection.
I have been looking in to PIA and NordVPN. Does any one have thoughts or experiences?
//
Digital Ocean seams like mainly a cloud services, and I can't find anything about logs. Private Internet access Pia and nordvpn keeps no log and have good openvpn support. I am a bit concerned about piano. They are US based, and I don't know if I can trust the no logs. Nordvpn is based in Panama... Don't known if that is any better... J
You can check out the detail of Purevpn (Hong Kong) based, they have loads of servers in 100+ countries and support Linux and offer 5 simultaneous connection... read review of PureVPN http://www.bestvpnprovider.com/purevpn-review hope you like it
You can try IPVAnish. It is the only VPN Providers which has Tier 1 Network. And they clearly mention in their policy that they did not keep logs of any type. If you want complete detail about IPVanish than you can read this article. http://www.vpnranks.com/ipvanish-review/
I also like hide my ass, but I want to find another one. I found the review of nordvpn https://topvpnchoice.com/nordvpn-reviews/ and it seems quite good. What do think, is it reliable?
I've been using nordVPN for over a year, and it's been great.
And they now have a Linux client you can install, but ignore the first of their instructions, cuz it doesn't work. Instead just download the .deb file and double-click to let your package manager install it.
But you have to finish with
sudo apt update
and
sudo apt install nordvpn (why this again, I'm not clear)
Then you can login and connect from the CLI, but it won't show in your "Network Connections"
It's actually much harder than configuring a bunch of vpn servers in Network Connections because I couldn't find an easy way to automate the login. Not that good at scripting yet.
I use VPNLifeguard as my kill-switch, and it doesn't like the new client. So I'm staying the old way.
