Question VPN Masquerade Patch HELP!

I am relatively new to Linux. I have built it as a router. I use IPMASQUERADE. I also have clients behind the router on my local network that need to access a VPN server off site. Only one connection can be made to the VPN from the masquerade gateway address. I understand the VPN Masquerade Patch can fix this. I am using RHL 8.0. I have found and downloaded the patch, but need direction as of to how to apply it. All it says at the website is:

"Simply apply the patch, then enable PPTP masquerade in the IPFilter section when configuring your kernel."

Can someone give me a push in the right direction?

Thanks!

estranged0877,

What part exactly are you having problems with? Here is the patch man page. After you apply the patch you should have the "enable PPTP masquerade" option when doing a make config/menuconfig.

everything. What would the first command prompt read to load the patch? As if I know nothing about running a patch.

"man patch", then "cat <patch> | path <somedir or somefile> <args> --dry-run" to test.

Does the path have to point to anything specific?
