Urgent, How can I reset linux password with Grab?

Hello

Many years ago I did the same mistake. I changed Linux password when I was tired and tomorrow morning I found that I have forgotten it.

Since it has happend only once in past (4 years ago) I have forgotten how can I change password from console.

Also It was Lilo at that time and it is Grub now.

Any comments and help is appereciated.

1- don't use the word urgent.. it's just annoying, are we gonna type faster or something??

2- lilo / grub irrelevant. just boot into single user mode passing a command line of 'linux single' or 'linux init=1' or such like, then just set your password once you're in

Thank you,

I used urgent in case. About 500 users of the ISP were waiting for reconfiguration of DNS server and IP address change to be able to use their service.

Fortunately I had installed webmin on that linux box. As webmin access is not updated when you change root password from command line I logged into webmin and changed root password easily but it took 4 hours before this came to my mind.

Anyway thank you for both your help and Advice.
