Hello there,
I wasn't sure exactly which forum to ask this in, but my basic query is as follows. I have two computers connected via a local network. Computer A has a much more comprehensive MIME database than computer B, so I'd like to update B with all the type definitions from A that it lacks, across my network somehow.
I tried simply copying all the xml files to the /usr/share/mime directory of B that it lacked from the /usr/share/mime directory of A, then running
Code:
update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
on computer B, but this didn't work.
I was wondering if anyone knows the correct way to go about carrying out this procedure?
Thank you for your time.
Sean.
