unable to logon web tax sites if not windows or mac
Hello this is a very general question. i run Ubuntu 12.04 and have used web tax programs. they now test for either windows or mac system to allow logon.
i have used VirtualBox windows system to circumvent the problem. this is awkward so--
my question is there a way to make a linux system
appear as a windows or mac system??

Hello, Thanks for the update. the tax site i had used was TurboTax.intuit.com until they started testing my system type. i assume they do some sort of Sense Operation at Log on to verify windows or Mac system for their minimum system requirements. all the tax operations are done on the web site so not sure why they only allow windows or mac??? i can use another site that does not test and it works fine. if others start not allowing linux it limits it's use. thanks ken
