Did you understand what was said about the partitions? If a file is not on the same partition then it will not go into trash, it will be deleted. The same happens with winduhs too. Is this concept clear? Only a file that is there in the home folder will go into the trash for the user. Is this clear?
I am not cleared about what you say
The trash is also working out of Home folder.
What is winduhs??
I have total 7 partitions in my local hard drive
root
home
+5 partitions

I have a portable hard drive with two partitions

Trash is working fine for all drives accept the local five parts

In home it is working as expected
In the portable drive it also works
If I insert flash drive It is working
But in the local partitions trash is not working

Can you understand my problem
These local parts and the parts in portable hard disk all are NTFS so I can't say that it is not working because of NTFS
I read that it is the problem of auto-mounting drives But I can't understand that.
Tow of the local partitions are bootable as windows.

The issue here the different partitions do not know anything about trash
how can it be?? My local partitions don't know about trash and other all portable drive or the drives which didn't see the face of Linux once know about trash???
Any way? But what is solution

Can you understand my problem??
If not I'll explain again
Thanks

I recently reinstalled my system and updated to 11.04

I found that if I change fstab and automount my drive, The trash will not work
the fstab extension
Quote:
/dev/sda5 /media/drive_name ntfs-fuse defaults 0 0
But if I manually mount my drive after startup, Trash will work

What to do??
Any Idea?

Try changing the mount point of partitions, for which the trash do not work, so that they mount somewhere in /home/

I use Mint, have the same problem on non-Linux partitions, and noticed that all those partitions are - by default OS installation - mounted into /media/

You are write, It is mounting in /media/ .But how can I mount it into Home?? I have three users. Can I directly mount in /home/ ????

Second Question: Which driver is used if I mount it after start-up???
I noticed that If it is auto-mounted trash will not work, If I mount it manually it will work fine..

now I have Ubuntu 11.10
