I'm sure just about everyone out there (and their parents) have heard about CompTIA's Linux+ cert. That's all well and good, and something I'm going to try and get (even though some of the questions / question areas are geared towards RH) later this year.
What I have to wonder, however, is what other certifications are good to get, for a future career in a linux environment, most likely as a tech or network admin. Currently I'm A+ certified and workin on my MCP (gotta study what the company tells you, neh?), and was just wondering what steps I should look toward after I take the Linux+
one problem with the RHCE is that it has an expiration (just like those MS based certs).
but hey, who'd ask if it's expired or not? most HR folks know nothing of that. All they need is for you to have a well framed (h ehe he) certification.
I was debating CCNA, but I'll have to see where my weave through the IT world takes me. So Linux+ and RHCE are the only two truly "linux" certs out there?
