Lightbulb The Cray Series Super Computer !?!?

Hi Again,

I was quite interested about he post by system on th 24th of December, the one about the cray super computers. Anyways
a bit of reserch, these things were fluride cooled machines.
these machines reached 1ghz back in '95 and did not use silicon instead they used Gallium Arsenide which runs 3 times as fast as sillicon, but ofccourse was way more brittle. seymore cray died a couple of years back, and the last cray computer was built 1998, *i think* but has retired. apparently, they dont do much ecept calculate. and store data. but thats all they wanted to do back then. the cray computer comapny (CCC) was started back in the seventies. and relesed the cray-1 in 1976 thers a heap more info about them, but im sure you guys can find that out if you follow This link.
