Do a search for gmake (I think - the wetware archives are a little mucky).
(My 'find' skills have been primitive since day one so any suggested improvements are welcome)
'find / -name gmake' (do the same for make just for kicks). If you don't find it you will need to install it. How you install and what version depends on what distribution you are running (if you are installing RPMs) or what version you build from source.
Double-duh. You probably can't build make from source as you probably don't have make. ( I left the original in as an epitaph to my simple-midedness)
If by chance you do have gmake or your make is just in a different directory, you could sym-link to it from the directory targeted or edit the config file (in the qpopper source dir) to point to wherever your make/gmake lives.
