System Clock slow Suse 10.0

I run OpenSuse 10.0 with Gnome, and life is generally good. Since I changed my system time for British Summer Time, my system clock has been haywire. It was fine before. When I turn my PC off, the system clock gets way behind the real time. Is there any way I can fix this?

You probably need to install a new battery on the motherboard.

The CMOS clock is not very accurate. Get a new battery first, as TigerOC suggests. If that doesn't help, or even if it does, consider using something like ntp to sync your clock.

In any case, you shouldn't need to change the time manually (unless you're dual booting windows), it will be adjusted automatically, assuming you have set the correct timezone.
