Suggestion


What client do you guys use for Instant Messenging for KDE?
i would go back to Gnome and use Gaim but i like KDE much more..
im running RH 7.3 and it brought KIT, i can log on but i can do much more..
what prog do you guys use? or recommend? im mostly looking one for AOl iNsant messenger since i barely use the rest

What prevents you to run gaim under KDE, check tik as well http://freshmeat.net/projects/tik/?topic_id=26%2C22

im a linux newbie
can you run Gaim under kde??
when i tried installing Kinkatta or whatever
it gave me an error
said to export KDEDIR=/usr
any ideas on this?

I use kopete in kde, it supports aim, icq, yahoo, msn and irc but it's a kde3 app and won't work on the kde2 shipped with RH7.3

Yes, GNOME applications will run under KDE, and vice versa.

The only annoying problem is that GNOME uses GTK, while KDE uses QT... which sucks when getting a "pretty" theme.

So use Gaim if thats what you like .

Aussie, how did you get Kopete to work?
i unpacked the tarball
i cd into the directory
./configure
but then i get an error saying to do whereis konqueror, export KDEDIR=usr
did you have to deal with this?
