Suggest Distro for Wireless Use

...is me two front teeth. However, a mate of mine wants to have his laptop wirelessly networked to his Windows XP home network, and basically wants it to play music while he's lay about in the garden. It's not a decent spec machine mind you, but recent enough to be wi-fi. What's the most stripped down resource free distro that will do what he needs? Also, how will the different file systems beween NTFS and Ext-2 affect filesharing?

adam-red that is a terrible title for a thread asking about a technical issue. There is a point to using a good thread title, it means that people searching for a specific problem can find your thread.

I will ask for it to be retitled.

I quite liked that....it cheered me up and everything. What I said remains true though. Anything more constructive in the way of a response by any chance?

Slackware, Gentoo, Debian - in fact, if you work a little at it, they can all be stripped down.

What specs do you need it for?

Ubuntu linux is simple to set up, and easy to install media applications on. Works fine on most laptops. And has good support for wireless cards. If you want an even more easy to use distro you can use Suse/Novell. This one works like a charm, is quite simple to set up for media use, but is a little heavier than ubuntu.
