su problem

Using SuSE 9.2, and have been for a couple of years.

Suddenly something seems to have broken. If I log as user but try to run konqeuror as su, or another program which needs to be run as su I am asked for the password but nothing loads. This behaviour is new.

Logging in as root and running the program it does still work so it seems to be something to do with linux not the app.

Any ideas please.

Short answer, upgrade KDE. Longer answer, find out what's screwing up kdesu and track down it's dependencies and reinstall them.
