Streaming/download test utility

Is there anything like 'hdparm -Tt' to test downloads?

I have 5 IPs to aim at serving 2 websites where one ostensibly points at the other [a .tv website diverts & serves you a .com website, but they both have separate IPs]. I'm having streaming issues related to routing and they think I should be using Android or windows

Not quite what you're looking for but if you Google, what's my internet speed, there's a blue box with "run speed test."

It's not the local stuff I'm worried about, it's stuff at the other end.

My problem is, I have 2 urls for the same site with wretched routing. Even though they appear to be up the road (literally!), I'm just getting asterisks out of traceroute after I hit some internet backbone router. But I found a third url yesterday, which links into vimeo.tv and has a short fast path. Looks like the one to use.
