Starting program as different user

How do I start a program as a different user?

I want to start a program as apache or nobody, so it can be accessed by a cgi script.

More specifically, I want to start the gimp, have a cgi script create graphics dynamicallly from a web page.

To answer you question, you can start a program as another user by doing the following:
Quote:
su nobody -c /path/to/program
However, for what you are trying to do you should probably look at ImageMagick or GD.

Thanks jeremy...

Actually, I've already implemented all the scripts...
Starting gimp as nobody/apache was the final step.

Thanks!
