Smile Squid Access list and ident with RH7.3

Acl aclname ident username
acl myuser ident rdesai
'username' refers to the user client machine
(here it is rdesai)
http_access allow localhost
acl mylan src 192.16.6.60
http_access allow mylan myuser

When the above line is used with the combined aclname list (mylan myuser) the client machine does not get proxy access. The above is meant to give access to user rdesai only on machine with ip 192.16.6.60 .
If 'myuser' is removed then the client machine gets access to the web .
However with any other aclname such as for time
the access is allowed eg.

acl usertime time MTWHF 10:00-18:00
http_access allow mylan usertime
This combination works.
The combination with ident does not work on Red hat 7.3. THIS WAS WORKING WELL ON Red Hat 6.1. The setup still runs. How can this problem be solved for RedHat 7.3 .
I shall be very grateful

Regards
R .B. Desai
